The Best Baby Monitors In 2020

As a parent, it is our fear that something bad would happen to our offspring whenever we aren’t looking. That’s why searching for the best baby monitors in 2020 can help.

It is unrealistic, however, to expect that we would be able to keep ourselves stuck by our children’s side for 24 hours. Lest we all forget, parents are also humans, who need to take care of themselves and finish off tasks.

Unless you live in a studio type condominium, your kitchen, your bathroom, and your dining room are probably located in a different room where your baby is sleeping.

You need eyes and ears with your baby at all times, so let’s thank whoever invented baby monitors for making this possible for us. I did the looking around for you and these are my top 4. Check it out!

1.) ARLO BABY MONITOR

What attracted me to this baby monitor is the fact that it is a bunny.

The Best Baby Monitors 1

Bunnies equals baby friendly. Also it won’t seem so out of place in your baby’s nursery, especially if you are trying to have it camouflaged among your baby’s stuff.

Example if you are trying to keep an eye on a new nanny, to see whether or not she is hurting or neglecting your baby.

This cute little thing is being sold at 135 USD.

You’ll love this one because it’s not glitchy and it provides you a 1080P HP video quality, allowing you to see what’s happening clearly. No need to squint your eyes.

Plus, you can watch it from wherever you are in the world. You only need to connect it to Alexa. You know Alexa right? Also works with Apple Home Kit if you are into Apple gadgets.

It also provides a 2-way talk so you and your baby can communicate. Your baby’s cranky? Sing her a song! No problem.

It is also worth mentioning that this little bunny is equipped with night vision, allowing you to keep an eye on your little one even at night.

Dim light or total darkness? No worries, this baby monitor works and adjusts.

Receive updates about your baby in your smartphone so you can have the peace of mind that you are looking for.

Arlo Baby Monitor also saves recorded videos for 7 days, allowing you to catch up on what happened in case you missed it.

2.) VTECH DM221 Audio Baby Monitor

The Best Baby Monitors 4

I’m sure you’ve heard of the VTech Brand? They are famous for their baby electronic toys, but did you know that they also have a baby monitor? The Best Baby Monitors 5

This one is not as expensive as the first one. At only 40 USD, you can have this baby monitor. I heard there’s a sale at Amazon right now for this product, allowing you to purchase it at 26 USD.

This monitor is available in three styles you can choose from, to suit your needs.

  • Baby Monitor 1 Parent Unit with Sensor
  • Monitor with 1 Parent Unit
  • Monitor with 2 Parent Unit

Unlike other audio monitors, this device erases the white noise you often hear which allows you to concentrate and clearly hear the only sound that matters – your baby.

That doesn’t mean that you have to listen to your baby all the time, you can also mute your unit while still being able to keep an “listening ear”.

This device provides a noise bar which keeps track of how loud the noise is in your baby’s room so you can see the noise. If your baby is crying or awake, then the bar would be moving or it would be at its max.

The two-way talk that this device provides also allows you to comfort you baby back to sleep if he suddenly sit up, half-awake.

There’s no need for you to run back to his or her bedroom to rock her to sleep. Some go back to sleep after just hearing the soothing voice of their parent.

For your convenience, you can attach this baby monitor to your bed or pants so that you will be able to go hands free while still keeping close attention to your baby.

The sad thing about this is that you can’t go too far away because the signal can only go as far as 1,000 feet outdoors and 160 feet indoors.

One parent stated that she loved this baby monitor because it is affordable, easy to carry around, and allows her to read a book in complete silence while still allowing her to keep track of the noise level in her baby’s room.

This device has given her silence and peace of mind at the same time.

3.) GOOD BABY Baby Monitor with Camera and Audio

There are some parents who prefer being able to actually see their child, instead of just hearing. You see, there are infants or toddlers who become silent when they are doing something mischievous.

The parent may think that their baby fell back to sleep when in fact, he or she may already be busy shoving something down their throat to make a sound. Scary, I know!

Good thing Good Baby provides us with a baby monitor that comes with audio and camera, and it doesn’t cost so much too. At 57.99 USD, you can can get it.

The Best Baby Monitors 6

What does this product offer?

As you can see in the picture above, you can keep a close watch on your baby. It’s a clear, real time video of your baby doing baby stuff in his crib while you are busy preparing dinner or getting his bath ready.

You also don’t have to worry if the sun has already gone down, because of the night vision that this camera has. You will be able to see if you baby is up to something while you are already preparing for your own recharging snooze.

With this little device, you can also keep track if the room temperature in your baby’s bedroom has gotten too cold or too hold.

This is to ensure that your baby’s sleep doesn’t get interrupted. A baby sleeping soundly equals a parent being able to sleep soundly too and recharge for another long busy day of play.

With it’s built-in two way radio, you can also communicate with your baby from wherever you are in the house and soothe him or her with the sound of your wonderful voice.

Sing him a lullaby or if you are too tired to do so, just let the baby monitor play a lullaby for you baby. Did I forget to mention that this baby monitor comes with 8 lullabies you can choose from?

With a click of a button, you can play a lullaby for your baby to soothe him back to sleep or to just let him feel that you are nearby.

The Best Baby Monitors 7

Personally, this is a good buy. However, I don’t believe you can bring this monitor to work because of it’s range.

You can only use it around the house, so this baby monitor is great for stay at home parents or work at home parents. Allowing you to work in the other room or finish off other tasks.

If you need to work somewhere else though, you may want to consider Arlo (the first one on the list).

4.) MOTOROLA VIDEO BABY MONITOR

Motorola is a brand known for it’s phones, but did you know that they also provide baby monitors? The brand has been on the news again because they are supposedly bringing flip phones back.

The Best Baby Monitors

Okay, so this one is a little expensive at 199.99 USD. The good news is it is on sale right now at 170.00 USD on Amazon. You can choose if you want only one camera (at 159.99 USD) or the two cameras.

Why is this baby monitor so expensive?

This allows the parents to fully see the whole room because you can spin it around, allowing you a 360 degree view of the room and what you silly little baby is doing while you are washing the dishes downstairs.

If you chose the unit that comes with two cameras, you will be able to view the camera together, at the same time. You can split the screening, which is also good if you have to keep an eye on two kids or if the kid’s playroom is wide.

You can also control the view of the camera remotely so you don’t have to go to the room and have it adjusted. Adjust it from where you are in the house. You can pan, tilt, and zoom via the handy parent unit.

You’ll also have night vision and infrared views of your baby when the amount of light in a room has decreased.

Just like the ones above, you will also be able to talk to your baby because this unit also provides a two way monitor. You can sing to your baby, or remind him whether he should be climbing that table.

The microphones of the units or cameras are also very sensitive to sound, which allows you to hear if your baby is crying or if he is doing something naughty.

Keep an eye on your child anywhere you are in the home.

They also have an app that you can download to help you keep track of your baby’s developments.

One parent said:

I never write reviews, but after all the research I put into this I thought I should. After reading reviews online and on websites and watching YouTube videos for about a week I finally decided to order this monitor.

The reviews however on this are not great throughout the different websites but I often wonder how picky are the people who leave reviews and do they consider themselves some sort of critic?

So I wanted to let everyone know that I am just a mom of two babies and my goals for this monitor were to be able to see both of my children as their rooms are across the house from us.

I wanted a split screen, I wanted audio for both cameras, everything included, and I wanted a long range monitor. And with this monitor I got all of those things.

My favorite feature of this monitor would have to be the timed screening of the cameras.

So I can have the camera switch back-and-forth about every seven seconds and that comes the full screen view and audio as well.

I also did not measure the yardage but I took this monitor down the street to the other side of my neighbors house and made it almost 1/2 a block before I lost signal.” -Mommaof2

You know, I am constantly amazed at how easy but at the same time how hard parenting is these days.

It is hard to deny that technology is helping us a lot to be good parents but also it is also hard to deny that sometimes it also makes us lazy parents.

Youtube, anyone? But who are we to judge, just as long as the kids are safe, healthy, eating, and developing properly right?

Imagine before in the 1970s, they didn’t have baby monitors yet so the parents also had to have their kids in their field of vision.

In a way this allowed parents to be more creative and resourceful in order to finish their tasks but at the same time, it also limited what they can do at the moment.

At the end of the day, if we use the technology that we have right now responsibly then there wouldn’t be any problem at all.

But yes, thank God for baby monitors! And whoever invented them!

  1. This enables the guardians to completely observe the entire room since you can turn it around, permitting you a 360 degree perspective on the room and what you senseless little infant is doing while you are washing the dishes first floor. In the event that you picked the unit that accompanies two cameras, you will have the option to see the camera together, simultaneously. You can part the screening, which is likewise acceptable in the event that you need to watch out for two children or if the child’s den is wide.

  2. Among the four baby monitors, I prefer the Motorola one. Not only is it a very well known brand, but I like that fact that I can see the video of the entire baby room to keep an eye on my active little one. And I’m willing to pay a bit extra for this added comfort. The two-cameras with the screen-splitting to watch the entire room also makes perfect sense to me! The app feature is another cool addon, I’ll let you know if I have any additional questions after using it for a few days time. Thank you.

  3. Although I don’t habe any kids of my own, I used to babysit back in the day quite a bit.  Boy could I have used one of these.  I am always surprised by the fabulous technology that is available in the smallest of things.

Having a good baby monitor I am sure is a must have for every parent.  The fact that parents now have the option of video viewing of their little one must be a huge sigh of relief.

I love that Motorola is still in the tech game.  A hundred years ago they were such a huge part of the introduction of cell phones.  Great to see companies that can evolve and change.  Your post is written wonderfully and you have done a great job.

Is 1080p video for baby monitors a new development?

    • Yes, it is! 🙂 Being able to see your baby through the monitor is great, but being able to CLEARLY see your baby is a blessing! Don’t settle for anything less! The clearer the better! 🙂
